Collection Access
To avoid the inconvenience of a missed collection or damage to a vehicle or property during pickup, we ask that residents make sure refuse and recyclables:
- Are set out by no later than 7:00 AM at a location that is visible to the collector.
- Are readily accessible to collectors. Collectors, typically, in back door service situations, pull one or two service carts to the collection point. Waste and/or recyclables are transferred from your containers into the service carts. The carts are larger and a bit difficult to maneuver in close quarters, around vehicles parked in a driveway, etc., especially during periods when snow and ice are on the ground. Therefore, unimpeded access is required to provide service.

Universal Solid Waste Tags
Village of River Forest Universal Solid Waste Tags can be purchased at the convenient locations listed in the Service Program Bulletin for $2.95 per tag.
Collection Day Reminders
The following days are observed as holidays. Service is not provided on the days these holidays are observed. Therefore, if a holiday falls on or is observed on Monday or if the holiday is observed on your regularly scheduled collection day, collection will occur the following day.

- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
ALERT: CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION
Trees will be collected on Tuesdays for the month of January. Trees will be recycled, so please ensure all ornaments and lights have been removed.
